What VOIRdirectâ„¢ does on a trial

VOIRdirect reads each day's trial transcript against the day before, researches the venire and the judge from the record, and puts what it finds in front of your team with a citation for every line. Your lawyers make every call.

Each night of trial

VOIRdirect compares the day's transcript with the day before and is designed to put a brief in front of the team before the next trial day. Every finding carries a page-and-line citation, and the corrections your team makes carry forward to later days.

Jury selection

VOIRdirect supports venire research and models strike plans on each case. Its seating model reports intervals rather than a single answer, and the optimizer behind it is confirmed by exhaustive search or by its own bound. Protected characteristics and their known proxies are screened out of the model, and an attorney signs off on its output before anyone relies on it. It supports your Batson record; it does not recommend strikes.

The judge

VOIRdirect shows how the judge has ruled, drawn from the public record. Each read is rated, cited to its source and dated, and the confidence drops where the record is thin. It describes the record. It does not predict a ruling or explain a judge's reasons.
